Stephanie Hefner is a fourth generation Floridian. She earned her Associate’s degree from Manatee Community College, graduated with honors from Hodges University with a Bachelor’s degree in Management, and is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling. Stephanie has a passion for bringing civility back in to the lives of our children and families. She is a certified manners and etiquette instructor for children and teens, a trained facilitator in Moral Reconation Therapy by Correctional Counseling, Inc, and is a certified parent educator through INCAF. She recently established the Academy for Leadership and Social Development (“Academy”), a nonprofit organization in Lakewood Ranch, Florida. Stephanie has a heartfelt desire for helping adolescents realize and reach their full potential. She emphasizes a foundation of leadership and civility that will empower students to make positive choices throughout life.

The vision for establishing the Academy began for Stephanie after learning that her late grandmother, Monique Semrinec of Marseille, France, started a charm school in Manatee County during the 1970’s. This was first piece of the puzzle that would lead her to create an organization devoted to helping young people incorporate integrity, respect and personal achievement into their daily lives.

As a mentor and coach, Stephanie recognizes the critical role that community organizations play in educating and encouraging our youth to choose a healthy, productive life and become contributing members of society.

"Regardless of one's background, all of our children should be given the opportunity to learn life skills that are critical in realizing their dreams." Stephanie L. Hefner
